PUNKS NOT DEAD
So punk had it's origins in the mid 70's then gained it's strength in the 80's, then comes the 90's recycled imitation of the 80's and guess what now it's 2007 and those bands that imitated the 80's (example=green day) are mega stadium bands which sprang the god awful hot topic chains & vomit inducing culture at places like warp tour. I will always be a fan of the mid 70's bands and 80's bands since that's as original as it gets. I don't mind this documentary since it tries to show the evolution of punk socially/musically/culturally and how it's become MAINSTREAM. 90% of the film has valid interviews by bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, The Vibrators, Fugazi, MC5, Buzzcocks, UK Subs, International Noise Conspiracy and more..BUT! in all fairness let me warn you some boot garbage bands like SUM 41, The used, My chemical romance (i'm bleeding internally as i write this) and Good Charlotte also get their say in the film. I'm assuming to thank the 80's for giving them carreers.

So i decided to create a link section for APPLE fans/users/future users on my blog (on the right). As i find more sites/blogs i will add them. I will also get around to post my feedback on my iphone, so far amazing! Steve Jobs = Innovator. Not bad for a guy that has a yearly salary of $1. (Yes ONE Dollar) Read below...
Jobs works at Apple for an annual salary of US$1, and this earned him a listing in Guinness World Records as the "Lowest Paid Chief Executive Officer." His current salary at Apple officially remains US$1 per year, although he has traditionally been the recipient of a number of lucrative "executive gifts" from the board, including a US$46 million jet in 1999 and just under 30 million shares of restricted stock in 2000-2002. As such, Jobs is well compensated for his efforts at Apple despite the nominal one-dollar salary. This approach reduces his personal tax liability because, under current U.S. tax law, salary income is taxed at a significantly higher rate (currently up to 35%) than the capital gains tax (currently a maximum of 15%) applied to profits arising from the sale of stock grants. Obtaining remuneration through stock instead of salary is a common extrinsic rewarding technique which ties management performance to financial benefits. Furthermore, it acts as a tax minimization strategy.

i BRANDING
So i go get my mail today and i had a fed ex package waiting for me.
I open it up and my iphone was waiting for me. This is not a promotional scam like you see on myspace or countless other websites. I'm very lucky that a marketing company came up with this marketing project which includes giving select taste makers (as they call it) in diff. cities a iphone. Thanks guys! Now if i could only get you to pay my rent and all my bills every mth, then guys we are talking about mega branding on my behalf.

I open it up and my iphone was waiting for me. This is not a promotional scam like you see on myspace or countless other websites. I'm very lucky that a marketing company came up with this marketing project which includes giving select taste makers (as they call it) in diff. cities a iphone. Thanks guys! Believe it or not Alvaro had to re-draw the horizontal one to re-organize it. They printed a bunch of 18″x 24″ posters, Flyers, and Banners for the show. If you happen to be in NY or Las Vegas during the dates, come through, check out the artwork and the new FREEGUMS line. Also be on the lookout for the Limited Run of T-shirts that will be available at the show (FREE). You can checkout the UNITED Tradeshow at: www.unitedtradeshowusa.com

WEDNESDAYS IN MIAMI
Give us a drink.......
So tonight i'm heading out to a new bar where i will be throwing my weds. party again "DAMAGED!" Its off the corner of Meridian and 4th (407 Meridian Ave. South Bch) This venue is similar to the room (4 blocks away) but is slightly larger with a great selection in beers from all over the world. The venue is decorated in rock memorabilia like John Lennon, The Police, Hendrix posters and is dark and hidden. I was originally going to move my wed. party to tues nights but i have personal obligations on tues nights that are more important (family) every week. Also weds. just need more options in MIA! Since i decided to put DAMAGED! on summer break i have ventured out a couple of wed. nights. Let me tell you things are pretty bland out there so the more options on a wed. the better. I think a proper launch will happen within a couple of weeks ALTHOUGH, i have been thinking about not doing a big deal launch and letting the party evolve organically. The venue sells itself and all it really needs is a soundtrack! After watching "This is England" i missed the days when you could hear the smiths, trex, buzzcocks, the jam, two tone stuff etc...Actually this reminds me of a party from way back called "BLOW UP" that i used to throw. So my take on weds. will be that and i will stand my ground on that. More info on DAMAGED! soon. INDIE MAGAZINE
At first any magazine with the name INDIE would scare me being it's trying to capitolize off a subculture that's already being abused by people that don't listen, dress or look the part. But after reading the mag i found out it's been around since 2003 and it actually covers cool and interesting features. Not to mention it did a story on "Midnight Vultures" a band i love! Also the mag is not based in the States and that adds to it's diverse coverage.

ASIA ARGENTO
So i recently saw "Marie Antoinette" which featured a pretty amazing cast including ASIA ARGENTO. Asia is better known for 2004s "The Heart is Deceitful Above all Things" which she acted in and directed. Watch it! Your childhood was a piece of cake compared to JT Leroy's. Makes you realise that just because a person can have a child, doesn't mean they are a parent. Asia was also in "Last Days" a 2005 film by Gus Van Sant. Since i wanted to find out what other movies Asia had been in or directed i did some research. In my research i came accross her own personal site. I don't think i have ever seen a cooler website exclusively for an actress/writer/director/artist/dj.
